Mama Mia- Hollywood came to Skiathos
That blockbusting ABBA musical Mama Mia came to both Skiathos and Skopelos
bringing a touch of Hollywood glamour to these chilled out Greek islands.
A worldwide hit Mamma Mia is showing to full houses on both Broadway and in
London town. Tom Hanks the multi Oscar winning actor became a producer and
elected to set the scene for the movie version in these postcard pretty
islands.
The story line is that one of three men could be the father of the leading
ladies daughter. Let the fun begin. Fabulous ABBA music, Gimme-Gimme -Gimme
and SOS standing out.
With a cast featuring everyone's favourite 007 Pierce Brosnan the leading
lady played by Meryl Streep and a supporting cast including Colin Firth,
Amanda Seyfried and Julie Walters This movie is set to be a sure fire hit.
More fun, Watch closely some of the local people have bit parts in the film!
Benny Anderson ABBA songwriter and musical director turned up in a private
jet, and was whisked away by a local taxi. A beautiful yacht was
commissioned to move the stars between the islands. Autographs were signed
and the port of Skiathos was given an old world look and then the cameras
began to roll.
Long time Visitors to the islands will be sure to watch the movie hoping to
catch a glimpse of their own favourite bars and restaurants. Newcomers will
be let into some of the secrets that make stars such as Goldie Hawn and Kir
Russell regular visitors to the island. Make sure you catch this must see
production.
The film will arrive in
cinemas in Summer of 2008 (18 July, USA).
